Duane Abbott
Photography

Duane Abbott is a photographer who revels in the minutiae. He brings his camera close and finds the detail that deserves enlargement and consideration. Wherever he travels, he has come to the conclusion that the big objects of art and the buildings of historical importance sometimes say less about a place than the graffiti, the cast-off objects, the plants, the horizon—the moments that culminate in feeling of a place. These make a gestalt that is sometimes difficult to see because it means acknowledging what looks to be trivial.
