Susan Slocum Dyer is an internationally recognized poet who currently teaches 2nd grade in Nome, Alaska. She is also a nationally recognized watercolor painter. The great-great granddaughter of Joshua Slocum, the author of the international classic, “Sailing Alone Around the World, “ Ms. Dyer is a solo adventurer carrying pen and paintbrush across the Alaska-Coastal Arctic tundra.
